Donald Cooney
describes himself as a Paroo River sheepman, mulga
country bushman, scrub-cutter and long time
collector of Australian bush bells. He has a
particular affinity for bush culture and the remote
areas of southwest Queensland. He is the author of
the predecessor to this book, “Bells of the
Australian Bush”
ISBN 0
646 44482 4.
In his retirement, Donald
enjoys his family, returning to the Eulo district
whenever he can, and maintaining his extensive bell
collection.
Eleanor Knie is a
high school teacher in Toowoomba, having previously
worked for many years as a professional trainer. Her
academic achievements are considerable with
qualifications in mathematics and information
technology. Eleanor is also co-author of the book,
‘To the Ends of the Earth - The Life story of Ida
Voss’. Personally, her favourite pastime is spending
time with her family. A deep interest in Australia,
its past, present and future, is evidenced by
Eleanor’s enormous effort in researching the
historic content of this and previous books. She
particularly values and enjoys the people
connections that are formed in association with book
research.
Paul Knie, Eleanor’s
husband, is the author and co-author of the books
shown below. His passion is searching out and
exposing the ‘concealed’ history of Australia that
is not readily found in popular culture. As a
qualified graphic artist and publisher, he has
worked on many printed publications, including those
produced under the Jinglestix label. His favoured
lifestyle is simple, surrounded by his immediate
family and friends. These include individuals who
share his other interests of photography and
astronomy.
